For 20 years the Rosebud Film and Video Festival has recognized and honored the innovative, experimental and deeply personal in regional film and video making.

Each year our annual competition awards large cash prizes, valuable products and services as well as theatrical and cable televison showcases to deserving film and video artists, providing many opportunities for artistic growth and professional exposure.

The 2010 competition is open to all works first released between January 1, 2008 and September 26, 2010.

An independent panel of judges will select up to 20 nominees from which 5 winners including one Best of Show will be chosen. In addition to promotional opportunites the 5 winners each receive $1,000.00 cash.

In addition to the cash prize, the Best of Show winner will receive additional film and video products and services. Arlington Independent Media (AIM), home of the Rosebud Festival, is the non-profit membership organization providing media production training, a professional production facility, and the Arlington County Virginia public access cable television channels (Comcast channel 69/Verizon channel 38). The AIM production facility is equipped with a three-camera studio, DV-Cam portable production equipment, Final Cut Pro edit suites, and a four-camera mobile production van. All equipment is available to members who have completed our television production workshops and intend to create programming for the channel.

There is no charge to members for placing programming on the public access channel.

All Rosebud entrants receive one-year free membership in Arlington Independent Media.

NOMINEES: Inclusion in the 2010 Rosebud Nominee Showcase, media exposure and additional area theatrical and television showcases.

5 WINNERS: In addition to the above, 5 winners will receive the 2010 Rosebud Award, and a $1,000 cash prize.

$10.00 for AIM members $30.00 for non-members (entry fee includes one year membership in AIM)

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

•Works should be submitted on DVD.

•Only the producer or director of a work may submit to Rosebud.

•Entrant must be a current resident of DC, MD or VA. – An exception will be made of individuals who are temporarily away at school or on work assignment.

•Entry must have been first released between January 1, 2008 and September 26, 2010

•Works may not have been previously entered in Rosebud, except works that were previously entered and identified as ”work in progress.” NO work may be submitted more than twice.

•Nominated works must be available to Rosebud for theatrical and cable television showcases through June 2011.

•Excerpts from nominated works may be used by Rosebud for promotional purposes.

•If nominated, entrant agrees to provide Rosebud with one DV-Cam copy of work. This tape will NOT be returned to the nominee.

•If nominated, entrant agrees to submit one or more good quality production photos.

•Non-nominated DVDs will only be returned when submitted with S.A.S.E.

•Multiple entries must each have a separate entry form and submission DVD.

•Submissions must be accompanied by completed entry form and entry fee. No entries will be accepted without entry fee.
